Pakistani troops continue to resort to ceasefire violations to make up for Indian attack | | | In view of the continued shelling and mortar fire from Pakistani troops civilians have suffered heavy odds. And some 300 house dwellers have left for safer places in Poonch border. In order to check migration on a large scale the Government has sanctioned monetary help for building 400 bunkers in Poonch, which has become the target of Pak fire, and 200 bunkers to be built in each border district. Three members of a family were injured as Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged heavy gunfire and mortar shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district on Saturday. A police official said Azad Ahmad (20), Zahida Khatoon (15) and their mother Zarina wife of Mohammad Shabir were injured as some shells fired by Pakistan troops landed in Ghani village of Poonch district. The injured were rushed to SDH Mendhar, where doctors attending on them termed their condition as stable. It is believed about 60 families comprising around 300 people living close to LoC have fled their homes for safety in Poonch district. The families the other day afternoon left their homes in Ward 10 of Balnoie village of Mankote sector after heavy and intense shelling a resident of Balnoie, Ghulam Hussain accused the administration of leaving the border residents at the mercy of God with no essential commodities including ration and Kerosene oil. Over 30 residential houses suffered damage due to shelling in Balakote, Mendhar and Mankote sectors in last few days. In view of the heightened cross-border shelling, the Government has sanctioned additional 400 individual bunkers for Poonch and Rajouri districts with 200 additional bunkers for each district. The Government has directed that to ensure speedy construction of these bunkers, funds would be placed with the DCs through the Rural Development Department. The bunkers would get built in one month as per the prescribed specifications, According to locals, the bunkers have been found to be an effective response to cross-border shelling, providing border residents a safe place to shelter themselves during shelling incidents It is believed that as a result of night long strike by the Indian Air Force fighter planes to bomb Jaish-e-Mohammad training camps at Balakote, Chakoti an d Muzaffarad Pakistani forces have gone out of control and keep resorting to ceasefire violations. At times they use fighter planes to hit some civilian areas but the Indian Air Force fighter planes have foiled their attempt. In fact the Pakistani troops do not want to create an impression that they have lost the war though the battle is yet to begin. And Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, has bailed out Jaish-e-Mohammad for its misadventure on attacking a CRPF convoy at Pulwama in Kashmir in which 40 CRPF personnel were martyred. And the Indian action to bomb training camps of JeM at Balakote, Chakoti and Muzaffarabad was the result of this misadventure. |
