NMC urges PM to take decision on ALC Report | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 9: Expressing deep concern over the delay in accepting the recommendations of Ashok Lavsa Committee report by the Central Government till today, President National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri urged upon the Prime Minister and Union Finance Minister to take final decision in this regard before the announcement of election schedule of upcoming Lok Sabha elections by the election commission of India. "Ashok Lavasa Committee in its report had proposed a minimum scale /pension of lower class employees and pensioners to Rs 21,000 ," Shastri said while addressing workers meet here on Saturday. "This report has already been submitted to the Union Finance Minister by the Ashok Lavasa Committee which was constituted in the wake of implementation of 7th Pay Commission by the Central Government for removal of pay anomalies in pay structure of lower class cadre of both the State and Central Government had not been given any effect," he said. "It will be a major issue in the upcoming Lok Sabh elections," he said, adding that the government employees and pensioners constitute a sizable voter constituency and this constituency can be a determining factor in the electoral considerations. Shastri appealed to the Governor's administration to ensure timely disbursement long pending wages of daily rated workers for year together so that this category of working class in a position to celebrates important upcoming festivals of Holi and Navratras festivals. |
