RWF holds press conference, demands regularization of driver | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 9: Rural Women Foundation (RWF), Jammu and Kashmir held a press conference over the pathetic approach of the government's decision of not regularizing driver, who is in services from 31 years as a casual driver. The press conference was held under the aegis of Sunita Sharma, President Rural Women Jammu and Kashmir. Sunita Sharma alleged that Tore Paul of Village Kahana, Pouni, Reasi was engaged as driver on daily wages on 16 October 1987 in ICDS department and since then he is working as daily wager. The case of the person, in question, was reviewed many times for his regularization in the department but till date nothing has come to fore. She added "Irony is that for last 31 years the person is working as daily wager, which reflects the ignorant behaviour of authorities concerned. He has lived his life hand to mouth and somehow managed to meet the ends. All the other persons who joined ICDS department as daily wager were junior to Tore Paul, they have been regularized, but justice has not been served to the Tore Paul for the reasons best known to concerned department". Further, she added the victim would like to invite the attention of concerned department authorities and urge the higher administrative authorities to intervene into matter and take favourable action. Sunita added that Tore Paul had also knocked the door of High Court Jammu and the grievances were projected for his regularization and the request was considered by the court vide SWP No. 791/2003, CMP No. 797/2003. "And the court had issued the directions to. ICDS department for regularization of Tore Paul which was ignored by the department and the request was again made to the concerned court that the orders of court have not been obeyed by the concerned department. On this the directions have again been passed by the court to concerned department on 14.02.2014 for regularization of his services in term of SRO 64 of 1994 but these directions were not followed by the department", she added. |
