JTC-SKF demand creation of assembly constituencies for migrants | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 9: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement committee/Soan Kashmir Front J&K was held here today under the Chairman ship of Shadi Lal Pandita, President, Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K. The meeting was attended by the office bearers and members. During the course of meeting the participants have expressed their grave concern over the deprival of the Kashmiri Pandit Community of due representation in the State Legislative Assembly, as no opportunity has been provided to the community members to contest elections for representing the community. While addressing the participants Shadi Lal Pandita has said that though the Migrants have been using their franchise during elections by casting their votes for the candidates of their respective constituencies but even though the community is lacing their representation. Pandita has demanded for creating three Assembly constituencies viz. (1) Assembly constituency Baramulla for migrants of District Baramula, Kupwara and Bandipora. (2) Assembly constituency for Migrants of Districts Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal and (3) Assembly constituency for Migrants of District Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwala and Shopian in Jammu province for affording opportunity to the migrant community to their respective representatives from the community though from different parties (Political Parties). |
