| Samadhan Foundation felicitates Panchayat members | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 9: Samadhan Foundation today organized a function to felicitate newly elected Panches and Sarpanches of Ramban district in which large number of newly elected Panchayat members were present.
Chief patron of Samadhan Foundation Pawan Sharma was chief guest in the function to honour Panchayat members.
Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Sharma emphasized on the need of strengthening Panchayat Raj institution in J&K as this institute is base of the democracy.
He said that holding peaceful Panchayat elections were big achievements of the Governor's administration because some mainstream political parties at the behest of anti-national forces had tried to sabotage these elections.
Pawan Sharma further said that decision of the Governor's administration to conduct Block Development Committee (BDCs) elections in near future is another historic step. He hoped that with the BDCs' elections second tier of the Panchayat Raj institution would be set up in the State.
Panchayat members put forth different issues of their respective areas particularly the issue pertaining to district Ramban. where hospital is under staff and irresponsible behavior of the present staff is further adding suffering to general public .
The other issues which were discussed include requirement of new bridge over Chenab at Ramban. Problem of water scarcity in Sawani Panchayat was put-forth by Sarpanch of Sawani.
Pawan Sharma assured the Sarpanches that their concerns will be brought into the notice of concerned authorities.
A Certificate of Honour & mementos were also distributed among the Panches & Sarpanches by Pawan Sharma. |
