Jammu, Mar 13: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri expressed concern over the slow process of regularization of thousands of daily rated workers working in the various departments years together falls under SRO 520, and appealed the State Governor administration to immediate amend the said SRO and make it workers/casual laborers friendly in respect of simplifying the procedure. Addressing gathering, Shstri said since lot of time has been taken to consider and settled, so far less than eight hundred cases only be cleared, it will take several months to finalize said numbers. This is absolute need to undertake to this task on fast track basis as, the working class badly suffering for regularization of their services. He observed that associating concerned head of the departments will facilitate the process and selection to save these daily rated workers from starving. Hoping that the Governor administration under Governor Satya Pal Malik will address this burning issue on top priority basis. He also urged Governor administration to immediately provide funds as to enable respective departments to pay the long pending wages of all daily rated workers engage by different departments who are suffering for want of salaries, certain cases wages has been delayed for years making such workers families miserable adding that the Governor Satya Pal Malik will take personal initiative to make the payment of all pending wages before the ensuing festivals. He appealed that tenure of President rule should go in long way in addressing the public grievances in the state with the effective time bound judicious, honest and upright approach. Several resolution were passed in the meeting which included setting up off Labor Welfare Board, release of 7th Pay Commission arrears in one go in favor of pensioners, enhancing medical allowance to Rs. 1000 to the state pensioners on the pattern of Central Govt. Pensioners & enhancing the wages of daily rated workers to Rs. 500/-. Among others who were also present on the occasion included Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S. Jamwal, Ram Singh, Darshan Baba, Vikas Sharma, Surinder Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, Ramesh Sharma, Swarn, Tarsem, Suraj Parkash, Sukhdev Singh, Tarseem Sharma, Tilak Raj, Girdhari Lal and others. |
