GMC&H staff discards blood samples in toilets | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 13: The callous approach of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) can be gauged from the fact that the blood samples of the patients are being discarded in the toilets of the hospital. Officials told Early Times that, the staff of the Biochemistry and other departments is discarding the blood samples in the toilets thus putting the patients and the attendants, who use these toilets to risk. "This practice is running in the hospital for long. The human blood is going into drains," an official said. Pertinently there are mandatory guidelines for disposal of human waste including blood samples. The way blood samples are discarded in the hospital warrants stern action against the erring officials, said a doctor adding the faculty members and other staffers avoid t use the toilet as there is a risk of infection. |
