| Militants murder abducted TA Jawan | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Mar 13 : A 25-year old former recruit of Army was shot dead by suspected militants at Pingleena village in south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Wednesday afternoon.
Reports reaching said that the soldier Ashiq Hussain of Jakli son of Mohd Yousuf Naik was shot at by the masked gunmen believed to be militants outside his home at Naik Mohalla in Pingleena village this afternoon.
A police officer said that the soldier was immediately evacuated to nearby by hospital where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival. Soon after the incident a joint team of army and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area to nab the assailants. Meanwhile, Army disowned slain 'Ex-Army Gardner' and said that was 'technically' a civilian. Defense spokesman told Early Times that Naik, resident of Pinglina was enrolled on 15 Jan 2018 in Territorial Army (TA) and went to JAK LI Regimental Center on 21 Mar 2018.
He however said that Naik went on three days leave on 14 Sep 2018 but he never returned. "He was declared deserter on 17 September 2018," he said. The spokesman further said that technically, after being declared deserter during training, he is a civilian. |
