PEUF to hold one day strike over delay in regularization | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 13: Score of PHE Employee casual and other workers protested against the PHE administrative department and Finance department over delay in regularizing the service of employees in light of SRO-520. The protest was under the banner of PHE Employees United Front (PEUF) assembled in premises of Chief Engineer, PHE Department Jammu. PHE Employees United Front has decided to observe24 hours "Kam Chhor Hartal", if the demands of the employees are not conceded positively. The employees raised slogans against the PHE Higher Authority, which has failed also to release wages to workers month-wise, the workers were demanding also for the clearance of their all pending earned wages in one go, the workers were pressing hard also for seeking relaxation in existing guidelines and norms of SRO-520 and performs circulated time to time. Further employees demanded that the date of 1st appoint of casual and other workers be conceded from the day they resumed their duties. The job be given to the next kith and kin of the deceased daily wagers like SRO-43 Rs.5.00 lac as special assistance to given to the retiring or retired casual workers of the department till framing of concrete retirement policy. The employees have heighted the demands of permanent employees like creation of 20 Number of posts of transport foreman, for drivers and cleaners convening of DPC meeting at all levels on time and stop recoveries from such employees who have granted notional promotions and benefit of SRO-149 of 1973 etc. The leadership of the PHE Employees further expressed that they want solutions of the demands through negotiations but it is the state government, who does not care, despite submission of number of representations, charter of demands which have been submitted to the government, time and again but has not responded. |
