| PSS R S Pura holds literary meet, elects new president | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 17: A meeting of the executive committee of Punjabi Sahit Sabha (PSS) R S Pura was held at Simbal Camp today. Local writers and poets attended the literary meet which was followed by a Punjabi Kavi Darbar.
Amar Singh Kuka, a senior Punjabi Ghazal writer and Jang S Verman, Punjabi writer & senior artist jointly presided over the meeting.
Swamy Antar Nirav, President of the Sabha welcomed the members of the Sabha and writers. He also presented his resignation as president during the meeting by pleading that he was unable to perform the duties of the post in a genuine way. The members proposed the name of Harjit Singh Uppal as new president of the PSS, R S Pura. The same was approved unanimously by all the members present on this occasion. On the occasion, a Kavi Durbar was organized in which Balwinder Singh Deep, Rahi Simbalpuria, Star Singh, J P Azad, Swamy Antar Nirav, Harjit Singh Uppal, Jang S Verman and Amar Singh Kuka recited their Ghazals and poems with different themes of humanitarian values and social issues. |
