| Kidnapped girl recovered, abductor held | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Mar 17: Police claimed to have recovered a kidnapped girl along with her abductor from Mendhar today. Police said that Mehmood Ahmed of Chaggla Mendhar a driver by profession and married person allegedly kidnapped a 19 year old girl of his neighbourhood from her house on the intervening night of March 14 and 15 when all family members of the girl were asleep. In the morning when they noticed that their girl was not in the house, the father of girl Ziyarat Hussain lodged a written complaint against the accused driver in police station Mendhar.
Police said that acting on a tip off, police today claimed to have recovered the kidnapped girl along with accused driver Mehmood Ahmed. A medical was conducted on the girl and it was found that the accused driver has committed rape on the girl. While talking to Early Times-SHO Mendhar Sajad Mir has confirmed that kidnapped girl along with her abductor was recovered in Mendhar and a case under FIR No. 44/19 has been lodged against the accused under sections 366 and 376 of RPC at Police Station Mendhar, he added. The kidnapped girl has been handed over to her family members while accused driver Mehmood Ahmed has been sent to lock up for further proceedings, he further added. |
