Jammu, Mar 17: District Police Jammu in its ongoing drive against narcotics in the district under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu- Tajinder Singh claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered poppy straw from his possession in Bus Stand area. Police spokesman said that on March 16, 2019, a police party led by Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia-SHO Bus Stand, accompanied by Executive Magistrate 1st class, Jammu, Mohd Salim, while on routine checking, recovered 11 kg Poppy straw and Rs. 2,01,050 cash from the possession of one person identified as Zahid Ahmad Khanof village Hangal Pahu, Pahelgam, Anantnag.
The cash and the narcotics have been seized and accused arrested. In this connection a case under FIR No. 14/2019 under section s 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Bus Stand police station and investigation initiated. |
