Injured in shelling local succumbs, but Kashmir silent on Pakistani aggression! | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 20: Even as a Kashmiri man injured in Pakistani shelling has succumbed to his injuries, no prominent voice in Kashmir is ready to speak a word against Pakistani aggression on the Indian soil. A civilian from Uri area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district, who was injured in cross-border shelling earlier this month, died at SKIMS, Soura in Srinagar on March 20. The deceased was identified as Reyaz Ahmad son of Sader Din resident of Batar Kundi Barjala Kamalkote. He was among the four civilians were injured on March 10 following cross-border firing in north Kashmir's Uri. Though the word of his death spread like wildfire, from mainstream politicians to separatists nobody has spoken a word against Pakistan for its aggression and how innocents are killed. While till now it was largely Jammu province which was facing the Pakistani aggression and Kashmiri politicians would maintain silence for obvious reasons, these allegedly Pakistani sympathizers continue act mute. From former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to Mehbooba Mufti to the Hurriyat leaders nobody uttered a word to say that this man was killed by Pakistan. The people of Uri have raised voice over the silence of Kashmiri politicians. "These politicians have forgotten the people of Uri. They speak of Muzaffarabad but not of Uri, this is disgusting," said a man from Uri. As far as the separatist leaders are concerned they seemingly have a reason to be silent as their masters are stationed across the fence. But while it was the first recent killing directly by Pakistan in Kashmir, Jammu region has been a continued victim of the aggression from the enemy country. It has been around a month since Indian Air Force had attacked terror camps in Balakote but for the Jammu region the Pakistani forces are continuing with their attacks. From Akhnoor to Rajouri to Poonch shelling goes on while at least three Indians have lost life since. Despite repeated attempts the concerned couldn't be contacted for comments. |
