GAME OF FRIENDLY POLITICS
HEIGHT OF OPPORTUNISM
R.B.SURI3/28/2019 10:50:32 PM
In the Indian polity a
game of friendly poli
tics is going on these days between the various political parties of the country. This is certainly the height of opportunism in which the innocent electorates are being exploited and ditched of course. The political parties of the country are least concerned for the future of this great country. They usually take the electorates for granted always. The challenges being faced by the country are being side lined at the cost of the nation. This is not fair at all. Some political parties are inflicted with 'Vanshwad' whereas the other are announcing the various benefits in favour of the people which they will give, if voted to power in the coming Lok Sabha elections. They consider that whatever is in the kitty of the Central Government that is their Khandan's money and they always forget that whatever is lying in the kitty is the hard earned money of the tax payers of the country. They are in the habit of spending the same for their vested interests just to grab the power in the country at all costs.
A million dollars question is that as to where we are landing at under these circumstances? There are reports that in New Delhi, Aam Admi Party (AAP) and the has Indian National Congress entered into an alliance for four and three MP seats as a friendly gesture for giving the tough fight to BJP. It is also pertinent to mention that BSP and SP combine in UP has left two MP seats for Indian National Congress where they will not field any candidate just to please the leadership of Indian National Congress.
Same is the case in Jammu and Kashmir where National Conference will not field its candidates against Indian National Congress in the Jammu, Poonch and Rajouri & Udhampur, Kathua and Doda Lok Sabha constituencies. At the same, it has been agreed that National Conference will not field its candidates in Srinagar, Anantnag and Baramullah Lok Sabha constituencies against Indian National Congress.
Ladhakh seat kept open for contest. Dr. Farooq Abdullah is on record that this agreed formula will not be applied in the J&K Legislative Assembly elections as and when are conducted in this sensitive state. National Conference Jammu Chief Devinder Singh Rana also has pleaded for the same. Both have stated that the National Conference will go all alone in the J&K Legislative Assembly elections without any alliance with the Indian National Congress, come what may. Needless to mention here that when Bhartiya Janta Party withdrew its support from the Coalition Government in the led by the former Chief Minister and PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti last year on June 19, Sajad Gani Lone Chief of the People's Conference and a member of the Mufti's cabinet first staked the claim for forming the government in the support with the Bhartiya Janta Party Legislators followed the staking of claiming for the government by the NC, PDP and INC under the Chief Minister ship of Mehbooba Mufti once again which was turned by the present Governor of the state Satya Pal Malik who imposed the Governor's Rule in the state on June20 last year without having consulted the Central Government at that time. The present Governor of the state Satya Pal Malik is on record for having said the same in support of imposing the Governor's Rule in the state on the next day. The support of the NC and INC was considered as the height of opportunism in the state politics. Day and night National Conference and the Indian National Congress were fighting with each other at that time they get united immediately and put the Governor of the state Satya Pal Malik in fix. Thank God Malik Sahib acted promptly without caring for the reaction from the Central Government led by the Prime Minister Narender Modi at that time. His decision on this score was welcomed by the people of the state and the country also. It is quite surprising to note that on one side PDP and the National Conference are at the back and call of the Indian National Congress and in support of its Lok Sabha candidates in Jammu region and on the other side Omar Abdullah and Dr. Farooq Abdullah are making the statements in the print and electronic media and also though their tweets almost every day against PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti for destroying the state of Jammu and Kashmir during her tenure as the Chief Minister in an alliance with the saffron Bhartiya Janta Party and have alleged that she has derailed the development and the progress of the state. Sajad Ghani Lone is also making the DRAMA as he is always at the back and call of the Bhartiya Janta Party in the state considering Narender Modi as his elder brother as because of him only, he was given the Cabinet berth from the Bhartiya Janta Party quota in the Coalition Government led by Mehbooba Mufti. At the same time, he is quite busy in making the permutations and the combination for forming the Third Front in the state of Jammu and Kashmir against the dynastic rules of Abdullahs and the Muftis. This is the set case of political opportunism of course. Dirty politics is going on in the country since two decades as the present Central Government led by Narender Modi is promoting total saffornization of the Indian polity as also applying the restraints on the working of the constitutional bodies and using them awfully against the very interests of the nation, it is being alleged. Though the former IAS topper Shah Faesal has launched his own party in the state but he is not fielding his candidates in the current Lok Sabha elections and in fact he is concentrating on mobilizing the people at the grass roots level in the state in favour of his party. May be he will show his cards as and when the Assembly elections are conducted in the state by the Chief Election Commissioner of India. He is keeping the cards close to his chest as on date.
But one thing is certainly appreciable that the Central Government presently is dealing with the Kashmir situation firmly with the iron hands. The properties and the funds raised by the Separatists and the leaders of the Hurriayat Amalgamation are being seized, NIA has also tightened these leaders by initiating the various investigations after having filed the various FIRs in various Police Stations in the valley besides elimination the Pak and local terrorists operating in the state with firm hands. Not only this after arresting the leaders of the Separatists and the leaders of the Hurriayat Amalgamation, they are being shifted in the jails outside the state. Also it is really appreciable that the Bipin Rawat Army Chief has been given the free hand to deal with the present ugly situation in the valley. With all doing this, it is expected that the bad situation in the valley would be curtailed soon.
For the success of the Parliamentary Democracy in the country, it is essential that there should be a strong system of check and balance that means that the existence of a strong opposition is must .
At the moment, the opposition political parties are there in the country but are ineffective. They have miserably failed in forming a grand alliance against PM Narender Modi.
They are totally divided and are watching their interests only thereby keeping the country on the side line for which they should be ashamed of. A need of the hour is that there should be some unity among the other political parties besides Congress, of course in giving the tough resistance to Modi lest he be not turned as a Dictator. It is unfortunate that the opposition parties miserably failed to come together on a single point agenda of challenging the BJP lobby including its PM Modi. On the contrary they maintained their egos and are going on as it was in the past as has been observed on this score by the political experts of the nation. It is pertinent to mention that though the Indian Nation Congress has exerted very much in this regard but it too miserably failed like any thing and is going with the support of only a few opposition parties of the land in the current Lok Sabha elections.
Many a times, I had suggested in the past through my various articles that all the political parties (other than BJP) should have united together under the Indian National Congress for giving the befitting reply to PM Narender Modi in the current Lok Sabha elections but all in vain.
It is expected that a neck to neck race will be there between the NDA and the UPA in the elections to the Lok Sabha as anticipated by the C -voter survey telecasted by the ABP channel a few days back. Let's see and watch what will happen ?
