Ex-Servicemen to submit demands before Guv | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 28: The J&K Ex-Services League has decided to flag the most important issues pending for over 20 years to be submitted to the Governor through by a delegation of its members. The decision was taken an executive committee meeting of the League held here today under the chairmanship of its president Maj Gen (Retd) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal. The issues which were flagged for immediate consideration by the Governor on the pattern of Roshni Act include land for the Soldiers' Colonies at Srinagar and Jammu, non-implementation of SRO 171 of 2002 with regard to 6% reservation in police and total injustice with regard to the annuity to the awardees, revival of the prestigious Sainik Vanaspati factory of the Ex-Service Cooperative presently sick for the last 15 years due to harsh taxation policy of the government. On the occasion, the executive committee noted with gratitude and conveyed their appreciation to the organizers of Jijamata Puraskaar Smiti for inviting the family of renowned warrior of the state General Zorawar Singh. The Jijamata Puraskaar Samiti had invited the family of General Zorawar Singh from Reasi to take part in the annual celebrations at Pune where they were honored as they hold Gen Zorawar Singh in very high esteem. |
