Jammu, Apr 3: Jammu's housewife, Sapna Jain established a new Asian record in 45 kg Masters category in the Masters and Juniors National Powerlifting Championship at Jameshedpur.
Resident of Trikuta Nagar, Jammu and mother of two grown up boys, 40 years old Sapna lifted a total of 215 kg weight in her category and won the Gold Medal, creating a new National as well as Asian record. Her husband, Punkaj Jain is a leading businessman of Jammu while her father-in-law is a noted social activist & Chairman of the Gandhinagar Green Belt Morning Walkers, Pawan Jain.
This was Sapna's first tryst with National Championship. Earlier, she has been competing within the State and winning medals. |
