Udhampur, Apr 3: A leopard has created panic in Satrari and other adjoining villages in tehsil Majalta. Locals informed that the wild animal intrudes into the village and wreaks havoc. "The animal has already attacked cattle and has been seen around animal sheds in the village," a local said.
The drivers have spotted the animal on the Link Road, he said.
Sources in forest department informed that the animal has been left in the forest so that it can live in its natural habitat.
However, the villagers have ridiculed this claim saying their lives have been endangered.
The villagers have expressed concern about the safety of their children.
Dharam Singh alias Bittu, the local sarpanch has urged the concerned to ensure safety of the villagers and their livestock.
He said that some nomads in the area have also spotted the leopard.
