BJP wakes up, realizes Mehbooba is instigating people; seeks her arrest
Saffron party plays nationalist card to lure voters

Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 11: When Bharatiya Janata Party was sharing power with the Peoples Democratic Party in Jammu and Kashmir it had no problems. Despite stiff opposition from the nationalists, the BJP went ahead to form an alliance with the PDP-the party which has been infamous for its pro-separatist leanings.
After snapping ties with the PDP, the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are screaming at the top of their voices that stern action should be taken against the PDP leaders for indulging in anti-national rhetoric.
On Thursday, the BJP chief spokesperson, Sunil Sethi, demanded that Police should register a FIR against the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti for instigating people to defy
the highway ban order. "FIR should been registered against former CM Mehbooba Mufti for statements to instigate the public to defy vehicular ban on highway on Wednesdays and Sundays. We demand the arrest of Mehbooba Mufti," Sethi added.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said that when BJP was sharing power with the PDP in Jammu and Kashmir it just turned a "blind eye" towards the anti-national activities and the decisions which PDP took during its tenure. "BJP couldn't stop PDP from granting amnesty to 10,000 stone pelters in the Valley. The saffron party leaders remained silent despite the PDP leaders remaining soft towards separatists and terrorists. At that point of time the BJP leaders were busy reaping the fruits of power and were least concerned about what's happening around them," the analyst added.
He said that PDP compelled BJP government at the Centre to announce unilateral ceasefire in Kashmir. "Militants didn't reciprocate and carried out dare devil attacks during the one month long Ramadan ceasefire," the analyst added.
A Kashmir watcher said that by the time BJP woke up from the deep slumber the PDP had caused "irreparable damage." "Had the central leadership not decided to say goodbye to the PDP in Jammu and Kashmir, the state BJP leaders would have continued to sleep over the issue just to remain in power," the Kashmir watcher added.
A politician said that BJP is playing a "nationalist card" at this point of time to just lure the voters and is trying to tell the people that party is not power hungry. "It's just a gimmick aimed at hoodwinking the people. The BJP leaders should sit back and introspect rather than raising hue and cry. Everyone is aware about the fact when the BJP was sharing power with the PDP its ministers acted like second fiddles and didn't muster any courage to question the actions of the then J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti. They left no stone unturned to appease the Kashmir centric leaders and endorsed all the decisions which were taken by the PDP. Now they have changed their colour and are demanding her arrest. What an irony!"
