Harsh Dev rips apart BJP, tears it to shreds
4/15/2019 7:24:13 PM

Udhampur, 15-04-2019: Sweeping Udhampur by storm, thousands of Panther activists , Mr. Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP, Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia State President and other leaders took out a gigantic rally which saw en masse participation of people. The massive rally started from Salthia Chowk and after passing through Kot road, Ramnagar Chowk, Mukherjee Bazaar, Gole Market Chowk, Apna Bazaar finally culminated at Mini Stadium Town Hall where the NPP leaders addressed the gathering.

Addressing the galaxy of people, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh tore apart BJP for having sold its every single slogan for the lust of power. He said that multifarious acts of treachery committed by the Saffron Party in quick succession during its sinister rule after its ascendance to power had shocked the conscience of the people particularly its political constituents. With a lengthy unending list of compromises made by BJP for the crumbs of power, its leaders had badly shot themselves in the foot for which Jammu region would have to limp for years, said Harsh. He regretted that the people of Jammu were soaked with the sweat of shame on seeing the Saffron leaders crossing all imaginable limits of sycophancy. “BJP failed to understand that its compulsion to collaborate with PDP in administration was required to co-exist with its need to confront its ally over fundamentals. It unfortunately divorced its bold promises and public interests and sacrificed them at the altar of so called ‘political constraints’ which was nothing but a euphemism for a selfish marriage of convenience”, lamented Harsh.

Harsh further rued that while the Army was being belittled and betrayed by the incumbent regime, the anti-nationals and stone pelters were being glorified and pampered. He said that the govt’s nod for withdrawal of cases against 11000 stone pelters who were earlier denounced by the BJP as Pak agents, while it was in opposition had created huge resentment and embitterment amongst the nationalist forces across the country. And as if that was not enough, the dirty alliance had come out with a new Rehabilitation policy for the surrendered militants that envisaged a fixed deposit and a fixed monthly honorarium for those militants who decide to give up guns after having joined armed insurgency. Admonishing the obnoxious incident of Pro-Pak slogans and anti-India slogans raised in the State Assembly, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that it was for the very first time in the history of J&K Legislature that such treacherous slogans were raised there. He wondered that instead of taking a strong cognizance of the serious incident in the Assembly, the proceedings of the house were allowed to continue as if it were a casual episode. He regretted that it was shocking and painful that Pro-Pak slogans were raised from the ‘shrine of democracy’ at the time when the operation by the Army at Sunjawan base camp was still going on.

Making a mention of the unwholesome compromises made by BJP for power including those on Art 370 and 35A, Mr. Singh said that herculean efforts would have be made to strengthen the multiple dents inflected upon Dogra honour by these self proclaimed champions of Jammu Pradesh. “Is there anything more valuable than self pride? And is there anything ghastlier then insult to our honour?” roared Harsh. While FIRs were lodged against Army and amnesty granted to anti nationals and stone pelters, the BJP and its Cheer leaders remained conspicuously silent and tight lipped. Where were they who swore by the sovereignty and nationalism at the drop of hat and nailed anyone and everyone for not doing enough for the security forces and for nationalist people. The so called champions made surrender after the other under the smoke screen of national interest. “When they are hurt in Kashmir we must feel for them. But when we are, we must accept it as fate”, such are the sermons delivered to us by those BJP leaders who had changed colours like the chameleon, said Harsh.

Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia, State President while accusing BJP of contemptuous maltreatment to Jammu region said, BJP had disdainfully ignored our issues, grievously injured our self esteem and virtually threatened our identity and culture. He urged upon the huge gathering to support Panthers party in its crusade for justice and restoration of pride of Dogras. He said that ‘statehood’ alone was the solution to the ills of Jammu province.
