| BDO Sunderbani swindles MGNREGA payment | | |

Rajouri, Apr 26: The Block Development Office Sunderbani has allegedly swindled MGNREGA payment sanctioned for construction of Bowali in village Nahoti of Tehsil Sunderbani of District Rajouri.
Sources told Early Times that BDO Sunderbani got executed construction of Bowali and boundary wall on Dev Sthan Baba Mai Mal at village Nahoti in 2016-17 under MGNREGA at the cost of Rs 2 lakh during 2016-17, the work was given to a local Shiv Nath who got it executed from his own money.
"Despite repeated request with BDO Sunderbani, Shiv Nath was not issued construction material forcing him to purchase cement and other material on his own but shockingly the payment has not been released till date," they said. If sources are to be believed, BDO and concerned VLW got the material released for the construction of Bowali but it never reached Shiv Nath and was sold by the VLW.
Aggrieved Shiv Nath contacted ACD Rajouri and narrated the entire story. Consequently ACD issued order of attachment of VLW and initiated inquiry against him but astonishingly till date inquiry has not been completed ostensibly to save the VLW. Locals as well as Shiv Nath demanded inquiry by Anti Corruption Bureau and FIR against the corrupt officials. |
