Ex-minister's writ runs in Guv rule too

4/27/2019 12:05:51 AM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 26: Former self-styled upright ministers are still enjoying power and influence in state administration, with their recommendations bearing fruits in the form of backdoor appointments even at a time when the state is under Governor's rule.
The erstwhile coalition government had fallen apart on June 19, 2018, after which state plunged into Governor's rule. But the writ of at least one former minister continues to run in state administration. In the month of October 2018, on his recommendation one of his workers got job in Anaganwadi centre.
The former minister rang up the District Programme Officer (DPO) Rajouri and while complying with the directions, the DPO engaged a watch and ward staffer in ICDS project Kalakote.
Raising figures of the former minister, sources said in many departments like Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Transport and ICDS, selective people parachuted through backdoor channel.
"In the interest of administration and smooth functioning of ICDS projects of district Rajouri, Mohd. Iqbal, son of Mohammad Sharief, resident of Dhalyote tehsil Kalakote district Rajouri is hereby appointed as watch and ward in ICDS Project Kalakote. He shall be paid honorarium as per admissible rules", order no. PORJ/ICDS/2018-365-67, dated 05-10-2018 reads.
