Forest Deptt organizes sensitization program | | | Early Times Report RAMNAGAR, May 4: ln a bid to combat forest fire hazard, a sensitization program among general masses was organized on in Panchayat Ghar Kulwanta of North & Basantgarh Range. More than 150 persons including students, Sarpanches, Panches were present in this awareness camp. This awareness camp was organized jointly both by the Range Forest Officers Basantgarh and North Ranges of Ramnagar Forest Division under the supervision of Divisional Forest Officer Ramnagar. While speaking in the awareness camp, Jyotsana, IFS Divisional Forest Officer Ramnagar exhorted upon all present to take all possible preventive and preemptive measures to save forests from forest fires. lt was also emphasized that forests play a key role in maintaining water level, soil fertility and ecological balance. Forests should be protected with zeal and enthusiasm with the aim to save this green gold/planet for upcoming generations. She further emphasized to get this message disseminated to public in general as well as through School going students by persistent efforts on the part of all stakeholders. She said that it becomes imperative for all to contribute towards this noble mission of saving our confidants (trees) from onslaught of fires which annihilates very basis of ecology of this planet. The interaction with the students was also made by the Range Officer Vineet Gupta, and Narinder Kumar in vernacular language and discussed with them about the ill effects of the forest fires. |
