JAMMU, May 4: Ranjit College of Education in collaboration with NCT today organized a day-long national seminar on 'Trends in Teacher Education'. The inaugural session stated with the lighting of lamp by the dignitaries including Ranjit Singh, chief patron RCE, Dr Minakshi Kilam, Registrar University of Jammu, Dr Darshana Sharma, Dr Anurag Gangal, Dr Jaspal Singh from University of Jammu, Dr Nutan Rasotra Principal GDC Udhampur, Er Manmeet Singh, Principal Dr Renu Gangal, Prof CL Shivgotra and others. Er Manmeet Singh, Chairman RCE welcomed all the guests who came from various parts of the country. In his address he highlighted the importance of theme and sub theme of the national seminar.Dr Khusvinder Kumar, President CTE, Pb & Chd chapter was the key note speaker and presented over the inaugural function. In his key note address he gave a brief summary of the trends in education since medieval period covering pre-independence and post -independence periods. He was of the opinion that concrete policy has been derived from teacher education even in the post-independence period. However, he stressed that the existence of teacher trainee centres are in existence in India since long. Dr Sandeep Sawhney delivered Dr D R Vij Memorial Lecture wherein he highlighted the qualities of Dr Vij and the importance of teacher student relation. Dr Minakshi Kilam, Registrar University of Jammu, gave an overview of the theme and highlighted that policy towards higher education still in a flux. |
