Pakistan targets civilians in unprovoked shelling in Jammu & Kashmir | | | Srinagar: Even as the state of Jammu & Kashmir gears up to conduct polling in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2019 on May 6, Pakistan resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation around 11 am Sunday.
Pakistan initiated unprovoked artillery shelling and firing with small arms along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch district and Rajouri district’s Keri Sector targetting Indian civilans in the area.
The Indian Army retaliated gave a befitting reply to the unprovoked ceasefire violation from Pakistani side. Times Now accessed a video of the ceasefire violation by Pakistan in which shelling along the Indian side of the LoC can be seen on camera.
The ceasefire violations by Pakistan in Krishna Ghati and Ketri sectors comes a day after former Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti urged the Centre to announce ceasefire in the Valley in the holy month of Ramazan.
Taking to her Twitter handle the former CM claimed that last year’s ceasefire helped in providing a huge sense of relief and expressed hope that electoral compulsions will be put aside.
In May last year, the Centre directed security forces not to launch operations in Jammu and Kashmir during Ramzan so as to help Muslims observe the holy month in a "peaceful environment".
