PAF concerned over developing of cracks in houses around Dool-Hasti dam | | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, May 6: A deputation of Public Awareness Front (PAF) Kishtwar under the leadership of Shakir Saddiqui today called on Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar and conveyed its concern over the issue of the inhabitants of Village Dool, who are facing the problem of cracks to their houses due to Dam reservoir pressure. The deputation said that the whole area is sinking day by day due to negligence of NHPC as it is not concreting the banks of the river as per norms. It calls upon DC Kishtwar to intervene in this regard and GM NHPC should be given direction to act promptly before any untoward incident took place. They also called for establishment of KV branch of NHPC at Dool and GM NHPC Dool-Hasti should be directed to reestablish the KV branch which was functional previously in the area before same was closed due to unknown reasons. They said that Land of Dhobi pora villagers falling under Khasra No. 754 near Tamrochi is being used by CISF illegally and have not provided any rent to the land owners. They further stated that Dool area requires water tankers in order to overcome the scarcity of fresh drinking water in the area beside also called for pouring water to minimize the pollution of dust in the area due to ongoing construction work at 1000 MW Pakal-Dool project is being executed by CVPP. DC Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana after giving patient hearing to the PAF deputation assured them that necessary directions will be passed with regard to the issues raised by them. |
