| ZEO suspended for breach of Model Code of Conduct | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, May 20: District Election Officer Rajouri Mohd Aijaz has suspended Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Rajouri Abdul Rashid for uploading biased political video on the official Whatsapp group as a matter for violating Model Code of Conduct (MCC) rules set by Election Commission of India. ZEO Rajouri has been suspended with immediate effect and is attached to Chief Education Office, Rajouri.
Pertinent to mention here that the ZEO Rajouri on its official whatsapp group uploaded a video criticizing present regime of BJP on all fronts particularly creating division among communitie . The video that was in song format clearly supported Congress and projected its era as the era of peace and prosperity.
Early Times correspondent had raised the matter in the official Whatsapp group being handled by DC Rajouri citing it as a critical issue of violating Model Code of Conduct by an official who is holding a responsible position and is DDO of near about 450 teachers of the zone. He also raised the point that if not dealt strictly this will promote other employees too to indulge in such a manner which in turn would hurt the sanctity of MCC laid down by the Election Commission of India. |
