School bus driver, conductor's bail rejected | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 20: A local court in Samba has rejected the bail application of Ravi Kumar and Sunny Kumar, the driver and conductor of a school bus, who misbehaved with a 3-year-old girl. Principal Sessions Judge Samba MK Sharma after hearing Public Prosecutor BS Charak for the State, Advocate Vijay Gupta for the accused and Advocate Mandeep Singh Sambyal for the complainant, observed that petitioners/accused have been charge sheeted for the commission of offences punishable u/s 354 RPC 8/10 POCSO Act. The investigation is in progress. The statement of the victim girl as well as her mother have been recorded u/s 164-A Cr.P.C before the ld. JMIC/Munsiff Samba. In their statements, they have stated about the act done by the petitioners/accused. The court further observed that the petitioners/accused have failed to make out a case for being released on bail and rejected the bail application. The victim girl is a student of nursery standard in Mount Litera School, Bari Brahmana. The petitioners/accused are driver and conductor of the vehicle used for transportation of students including the victim girl to the school. There was some behavioural change in the victim girl after some days of admission. On 23.04.2019, the victim told her mother that the accused persons would kiss her and touch her body. On the strength of the complaint lodged by the mother of the victim girl, FIR was registered and investigation commenced. |
