JAMMU, May 20: Thousands of Daily Wagers of PHE Department of Jammu province converged at the Press Club Jammu where a strong protest was staged on the burning issues for non-release of earned wages of the PHE workers. Tanveer Hussain, President of All J&K PHE ITI Trained, CP And Land Donor Workers Association while addressing the protesters highlighted the agonies and sufferings due to financial hardships being faced by the daily wagers/ workers. He said that it is because of the callousness of all the successive governments as also the state administration for the last over twenty years by not fulfilling the genuine demands of the workers regarding their regularization and payment of pending wages for years together. The government never fulfilled its commitment and continued to keep the fate of the workers in the lurch, he alleged. He further stated that it is unfortunate that the state administration presently headed by Governor has also ignored our plight whereas we had great expectations from Governor but no positive step has been taken so far, said Hussain. Other prominent leaders who addressed the gathering included Deepak Gupta Vice President, Subash Chander General Secretary, Manjeet Singh, Pardeep Sharma, Dinesh Sharma, Ravi Sharma, Gulam Nabi, Ishaq Hussain, Ganesh, Rajesh Sharma and others. |
