Police extends Care for your buddy programme to private schools | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 30: Police Jammu addressed principals and teachers from various private schools in Jammu under the *"Care for your buddy"* for extending the reach of the programme for preventing drug abuse. SSP Jammu, Tejinder Singh (IPS), addressed the principals and teachers present along with SDPOs, SHOs and ICPPs of the city. The participants were briefed about the programme, its objective and mechanism. It was emphasised that drug abuse and addiction is a social problem and it required concerted efforts from all stakeholders - including law enforcement agencies, families and schools. Insp Gurnam Singh (from the Anti Drug Task Force, Jammu) presented case studies and outlined signs of addiction which could be taken note of by principals and teachers for timely intervention against drug addiction. It was emphasised that the Care for Your Buddy programme is meant to protect students from drug addiction and active cooperation of schools/society is indispensable for its success. |
