UDHAMPUR, May 30: District Magistrate, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla today ordered strict action against beggary at public places.
Taking cognizance of complaints regarding menace of begging around hospitals, Schools, Street and markets of the township, the DM in exercise of the powers vested under the Jammu & Kashmir Prevention of Beggary Act 1960 ordered that strict action under law be initiated against the offenders.
It is further added that any person found craving for alms at public places or entering on any private premises for the purpose of soliciting alms should be arrested under this act.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Udhampur has been asked to implement the order in letter and spirit and also submit a daily report regarding number of persons arrested under this act. |
