Narayana Superspeciality Hospital celebrates infection control month | | | Early Times Report jammu, June 4: The SMVD Narayana Superspeciality Hospital ,Kakryal celebrated the month of May as Hospital Infection control Month. This was primarily aimed at reinforcing and increasing awareness towards prevention of Hospital acquired Infection, not only among the hospital staff but also patient relatives and other people. The specific areas covered included, the paramount importance of Hand Hygiene at all times, preventions of Surgical Site Infection, Prevention of Catheter related Blood stream and Urinary tract infection, increasing antibiotics resistance etc. Programme was inaugurated by Facility Director Dattretreya K.S. and Chairperson Hospital Infection committee Dr J.P.Singh and Medical Superintendent Dr Saumya Ahuja. Various activities carried out during the month included-a lecture by Hospital Infection Control officer Dr Beena Jad, for patient attendants and relatives on best practices for controlling spread of infection in Hospital and at Homes. There was a chart competition for nursing and other staff in the theme of "Preventions of Hospital acquired infection". A Quiz competition was organized between various department covering infection control policies and practices. Dr. (Brig.) ManMohan Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer of the Hospital stated that preventing infection is our number one goal. Whether it be in a outpatient Department, emergency room or long-term care facility. Our all health care professionals play a significant role in influencing the patient`s health and safety at SMVDNSH. |
