Jammu, June 14: JDF deeply concerned about the physical attack by a mob along with Bangladeshi goons. Many doctors are injured and some are very serious and being treated in critical and intensive care units. Doctors in various institutions and hospitals have shown deep concern over this episode; and above all West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee has displayed irresponsible, erratic and unfortunate attitude. Doctors all over the country are in rage and appealing the state and center governments to make an end of such incidents by law or legal means. The authorities at the helm are playing with and undermining the prestige of this noble profession. Now the health minister and minister in PMO office themselves belong to this profession, a lot of expectations are desired from them. A question mark is before them about their planning to save the noble profession from such harassment. Jammu and Kashmir doctor community has already met with such behavior from the mob and indifferent attitude by the administration day today such incidences. Seeing and pondering over such happenings JDF and other doctors bodies have shown its concern and represented many occasions to the concerned authorities but only a knee jerk response is shown by them, and no concrete policy has been adopted. It is pertinent to mention here that we doctors always with patient care and humanity. But such accidents divert the attention of government and medical experts from the constructive work and we waste our resources and energy in wasteful purposes. Jammu Doctors Forum appeals to the government to do an exercise on the burning problem of security of medical staff, optimize the health services and build the confidence of the patients in Jammu and Kashmir health services which have been eroded since decades. The government can act in the following ways: Any offense on the medical personnel should be made a non-available offense. No arrest of doctor should be made per law per judgment of court in 2004-2006. |
