Jammu, June 19: A local court in Srinagar on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of a man allegedly involved in kidnapping and rape.
The Second Additional Sessions Judge, Srinagar, Vijay Singh Manhas rejected the bail application of Javaid Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Rashid Mir, of Chandpora, Harwan in Srinagar who was booked by the police station Batmaloo in FIR NO 75/2017 u/s 366/376/109 RPC.
The court while rejecting the bail application observed that evidence in the case is yet to be recorded vis-a-vis the charge being altered and offence u/s 376 RPC stood, wherein the punishment is not less than 10 years and which may extend to imprisonment for life.
"The objections filed by the learned APP in these facts and circumstances of the case are tenable, as such, no ground is made for granting the concession of bail to the petitioner/accused person," the court observed. |
