Div Com reviews preparations for implementation of 'Back to Village' prog at Kathua

Kathua, June 19: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today had a review meeting regarding the preparations being made by Kathua district administration for implementing State government's flagship programme "Back to village," to be held from 20 to 27 June besides discussing various initiatives to be taken up by the officers during their visit to the villages.
District Development Commissioner, Vikas Kundal, briefed about the programme, activities which are to be undertaken by the officer during the visit besides apprising about boarding and lodging of the visiting officers.
Besides, sensitization programme for designated officers was also organized in which officers were acquainted with their role and nomenclature of their duties during their visit to the villages.
Divisional Commissioner asked the designated officers to take on the activities like water conservation, restoration of water bodies, vermicompost units and awareness camps for energizing Panchayats and making villagers to cooperate and participate in redirecting the development efforts.
He also reviewed the status of languishing projects, progress of bunkers, roads, bridges, check dams and overall water scenario of the district.
He also visited the make shift arrangements of GMC Kathua at main bazaar and directed the executing agency to complete all the remaining works in time.
Later, the Div Comm visited the tourist infrastructure developed along N.H. near Khrote Morh and stressed for its optimal utilization. He also inspected the ongoing work on Old Samba Kathua (OSK) road and asked the officers for expeditious completion.
ADC, Ghanshyam Singh, ACD, Sukhpaul Singh, CPO, Uttam Singh, Commandant, IRP 19 Battalion, Ranjeet Singh, XEN PWD, U K Sharma, SDM Hiranagar, Officers of BSF, SDM Hiranagar and other district officers were present during the meeting
