Don't get carried away by emotional slogans, be practical: Munish to people | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 28: Editor Early Times, Munish Gupta, on Sunday asked people not to get carried away by the political issues being raised by the politicians, who have failed to deliver in the past. Carrying forward his mass contact programme in different areas for the 65th day today, Munish said, "As the Assembly elections are drawing closer such issues are being raked which can make people emotional. But the fact is that these issues have got nothing to do with the problems being confronted by a common man." "These politicians have misled us for the past 70 years and they are again making an attempt to do the same. As of now, priority for the people is the basic amenities and their day to day survival," said Munish, who would be contesting the forthcoming Assembly elections as an Independent candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency. He said, "We the people of Jammu have to wake up and ask our so-called leaders what they did for us during the past seven decades. We need to ask them why they have failed to provide us with the basic amenities and other facilities." Munish thanked people for making his mass contact programme a success by their huge participation. He urged them to vote for him and give a befitting reply to all the so-called leaders, who have misled them during all these years. "I have taken the first step by deciding to contest the elections. Now it's for you to take the next step by voting for me," said Munish. |
