Sikh organizations hail rousing reception for International Nagar Kirtan

JAMMU, Aug 7: A meeting of Sikh organizations of J&K held at Gurudwara Digiana Ashram Jammu under the chairmanship of Sudershan Singh Wazir Chairman Sikh United Front J&K. In the meeting discussions are made regarding warm welcome accorded to International Nagar Kirtan on the eve of 550th birth anniversary celebration of Guru Nanak Dev ji.
In the meeting, the Sikh organizations which organized the celebrations were whole heartedly thanked.
From Jammu, the International Nagar Kirtan moved back to other states of India which shall have to cover 17 states of India.
It is pertinent to mention here that the historic International Nagar Kirtan wass received at Dina Nagar Punjab by Mahant Manjit Singh ji Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib ji Poonch and Saropas were presented to Panj Piaras by Mahant Manjit Singh ji accompanied with thousands of Sikh Sangat of J&K. The Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Amritsar presented the Saropa to Mahant Manjit Singh ji. Mahant Manjit Singh Dera Nangali Sahib also thanked administration for their cooperation and all possible support in the function. Mahant Sahib also thanked the people of all faiths who participated in the Nagar Kirtan. Mahant Sahib ji also announced further programme of celebration of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji in J&K state and appealed the Sangat to participate in the programme which will be held at Gurdwara Batote on August 18, at Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch on August 31, at Gurdwara Yadgar Sant Baba Sunder Singh ji at Nonial (Nowshera) and Gurdwara Singh Sabha Sawan Chak Kathua on September 1.
The Sikh Organizations J&K participated in the meeting include The Sikh United Front J&K, Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, Sikh Istri Akali Dal, Sikh Student Federation, Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa Society, Sikh Welfare Society, Sikh Naujwan Sabha and Shiromani Youth Akali Dal J&K.
