Shri Amarnath yatra likely to restore soon | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 7: The state government is planning to restore the Amarnath yatra in Kashmir to conclude the pilgrimage with big festival on Raksha Bandhan. Sources said some religious leaders have conveyed it to the J&K Govt that yatra needed to be restored in the interest of religious sentiments of thousands of devotees. Sources said that New Delhi head picked up the issue with the security experts and that meetings were being held to decide on how to restore the pilgrimage when security restriction are in place in Kashmir valley. In the wake of New Delhi's decision to revoke the special status of J&K state it was reliable learnt that the army in league with Jammu and Kashmir police is preparing a plan to ensure smooth conclusion of the yatra. Sources said that there was a possibility that the pilgrims were to be taken to the cave shrine base camp in the vehicles of the security forces. "Their pilgrimage travel won't be planned by the pilgrims themselves but by the security agencies in a bid to avoid any untoward incident and the pilgrims won't be allowed to move around like tourists in the restive valley" said on official on the condition of anonymity. "There is a likelihood that the pilgrims will be made to move to the cave shrine via Pahalgam route and from there they will move back straight to Jammu" said official. It is pertinent to mention that on last Friday the army had averted the possible terror strike on the yatra by recovering weapons including a US made sniper rifle, IED from the route. In the wake of the threat the yatra was suspended where as the Yatris and tourist in Kashmir were advised to go back to their native states. |
