JKPSA holds executive meeting | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 11: Jammu and Kashmir Private Schools Association (JKPSA) today organized an executive committee meeting to discuss about abrogation of Article 370. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of President Kamal Gupta, who claimed that the JK Reorganization Act was a historic decision to end the discrimination in the state as Article 370 was un-constitutional, discriminatory and always hampered the development and growth of the state. "Barring a few, most of the youth in the J & K region have suffered immensely due to discrimination. The bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories - Jammu; Kashmir and Ladakh will open the new gateway of job opportunities for the unemployed educated youth of the state", he said. General Secretary of the Association, Ajay Gupta briefed the august house about the repercussions after abrogation of Article 370. While speaking he said that scraping of Article 35 (A) has now stopped hegemony on the one hand and withdrawal of state subject / domicile certificate has become a big challenge for educated youth of the state on the other hand. Till date government of J & K State has failed to generate good educational infrastructure for the students in the state. Influential parents having good sources of income usually send their children out of the state or abroad to educate them. In number of cases intelligent students having miserable condition and low sources of income in the state lagged behind in the competitions held even at the state level. Although amendments in the dreadful laws of Article 370 has empowered all of us but it has become a big challenge for the students who have to face the competition at the national level in the absence of adequate educational infrastructure in the state, they said. Members unanimously appealed to the Government of India to grant special provision to give justice and to save the identity of the locals as done in Article 371. They also demanded world class educational infrastructure in both union territories i.e.Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to give real benefits to the people who have been deprived from all types of benefits for more than 70 years by the successive rulers. The members who attended the meeting included Rameshwar Mengi (Vice President JKPSA), Ajay Singh, Krishen Singh, Mohd. Din, Vinod Gupta etc. |
