Munish reaches Chatha on bicycle, residents blame BJP, Cong for civic amenities | Mass contact programme continues | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 11: Continuing his mass contact programme, Editor Early Times, Munish Gupta who would be contesting the forthcoming Assembly elections from Gandhi Nagar constituency as an independent candidate today visited Chatha area on bicycle from his residence in Gandhi Nagar and took stock of the problems of the residents, who accused BJP, Congress for overlooking the area in providing civic amenities. The residents alleged that the roads in the area are in dilapidated conditions since long time but previous governments didn't bother to redress this problem due to which people are facing huge inconvenience. "It has become difficult to drive on these bad roads which are prone to accidents. The locality has already witnessed several mishaps causing serious injuries to the motorists but concerned authority has not taken any corrective measures till date. There was long time demand of blacktopping of roads which has not been addressed. During present rainy season these roads have become virtual death traps," the residents informed Munish Gupta. "Pot holed roads are a nightmare for the locals as well as those who visit the locality, however, the elected representatives and the administration have never cared to initiate repair of dilapidated roads. We are awaiting the day when our locality catch the attention of the concerned authorities which it seems are in deep slumber," added the residents. They appreciated the efforts of Editor Early Times to highlight the civic problems of every area of Gandhi Nagar constituency by personally paying visit to the area and by making interaction with the local residents. They blamed the BJP and Congress of betraying the trust of the locals who gave their votes to ensure their wins in previous assembly elections. "They used to make tall claims before elections to carry out development across the area but after winning they forgot and never showed their faces again," they alleged. |
