Udhampur, Aug 11: While authorities in Kathua have acted strictly against the violations committed by industries there, similar action is awaited in Udhampur where violations by industries have crossed all limits and life of the locals has become miserable.
Rahul -a student from Rathian said that cement industry near his place is releasing very dirty smoke and dust making it difficult even for many meters away from the industry.
Some people have developed health problems due to this.
Some people has developed breathing problem due to the dust and smoke of the industry and presently they are under treatment," Sources informed
Many more people including students informed their clothes gets spoiled in the dust released near the cement factory which takes much time to settle.
"Even when it rains the water gets dusty by mixing with pollutants suspended in air and is very harmful for soil and crops," a retired teacher, added. People of the area have appealed to the dc Udhampur Piyush singla to instruct the erring industries and act strictly against them so that the people may heave a sigh of relief.
Some have even threatened to protest and lock the erring industries if the concerned departments does not act. |
