MPEJ justifies house arrest of opposition leaders | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 17: Movement for Peace, Justice and Equality has justified the house arrest of opposition leaders and claimed that such hue and cry should not be made, when whole nation was celebrating the historic decision. According to press release, MPEJ leader Ram Singh Chauhan and Kuldeep Kumar Rao expressed wonder as to why great hue and cry is being made by Congress activists to release political leaders from detention in the present circumstances post scraping of Art.370 & 35-A, when whole countrymen are rejoicing and showering praise on the Modi Government for the bold and historic decision. The due further reminded the Congress leaders & their sympathizers of the days of Emergency in 1975 when the top opposition leaders were dumped in jails for no fault on their part for about 18 months with judicial trials withdrawing all fundamental rights from them. They further said that it was the Sheik _ Indira accord of 1975- murdering the democratic norms & values when Sheik Abdullah was sworn in as Chief Minister having not a single NC member in the Assembly in the state, they said and added that this marked as a beginning of strangulation of democracy in the greatest democracy of the world, coupled with unprecedented nepotism, corruption, destroying all Constitutional Institutions in the State. |
