Mahila Cong condemns Govt for not allowing opposition leaders to visit Srinagar | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 24: Strongly condemning BJP led NDA government for not allowing leaders of opposition to enter Srinagar city to interact with common people, Pradesh Mahila Congress today termed this action as an attempt to throttle dissent voices. In a statement issued here today, Pradesh Mahila Congress president and former MLA Indu Pawar said that opposition leaders led by Shri Rahul Gandhi wanted to interact with cross sections of the society at Srinagar to inquiry about problems being faced by the them but they were not allowed to come out of Srinagar airport by the present dispensation headed by BJP. "This is murder of the democracy. Responsible opposition leaders were part of the delegation but by denying these leaders permission to visit Srinagar government is trying to hide something", she said and regretted that government was not allowing opposition to perform its duty in a democratic system. She said that on the one hand government is claiming that situation is normal in Kashmir Valley but on the other hand opposition leaders were denied entry in the valley following mahila congress office bearers also express their views .
