Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 24: Editor Early Times Munish Gupta on Saturday cautioned people not to get carried away by the rhetoric, as hollow slogan being raised by few politicians to garner votes. Carrying forward his mass contact programme in Babliana areas Munish Gupta said, "Time has changed and politicians cannot take people for a ride for just offering mere a lip service." He said that the dismal performance of the former elected representatives has disappointed the people and their yearning for a change. "I have met hundreds of people during the past three months. Most of them have common complaints like the roads in their areas or dilapidated drains, power and water supply are erratic, these are the basic things common needs to survive, but unfortunately our leaders who made tall promises during all these years, have not paid any attention toward these basic issues", said Munish, who would be contesting forth coming elections as an independent candidate from Gandhi Nagar Constituency. He said, "People in all the areas have welcomed me with open arms, I'm thankful to them for their support and encouragement. I assure them if I win the elections, I will work 24x7 to mitigate their suffering and will always stand by them." |
