Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 27: In an application filed by the state government for stay / modification/ alteration / revocation of order dated August 14 whereby High Court had allowed the J&K High Court Bar Association Srinagar to visit jails and have interaction with prisoners. Justice Rashid Ali Dar of J&K High Court Srinagar after hearing Advocate General DC Raina with Senior AAG Javaid Iqbal issued notice to the J&K High Court Bar Association Srinagar for filling their response before August 30, 2019 and ordered that till then, direction regarding collective interaction by members of Bar Association, as permitted pursuant to order passed on August 14, 2019, shall remain on hold. High Court further clarified that this shall not be treated to absolve the respondents/applicants herein from providing necessary legal aid/assistance under law to various persons indicated in CM or in discharging the duties caste on the respondents under relevant rules/ jail manual. During the course of hearing, Advocate General DC Raina submitted before the court that in view of the unprecedented situation on account of serious threat having serious ramifications for maintenance of law and order in the state, as such order dated July 10, 2019 needs to be appreciated in different context as compared to present circumstances. |
