Minorities feel they are unsafe in Kashmir claims Chrungoo | | | Are minorities have been provided with full security cover to ensure their safety. This seems doubtful because the state spokesperson on Kashmir Affairs, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo wrote a letter to State Police chief Dilbag Singh asking for the protection and safety of minorities in Kashmir. What are reasons for such fears. And the reason is not far behind the human scope Chrungoo" has been receiving a number of calls from various corners of Kashmir valley from the members of the minority community regarding the prevailing situation in Kashmir. In particular, the PM package employees and especially the women are feeling scary after the visit of the senior government officials asking them to remain inside the transit camps after midnight, Chrungoo has stated that. "In view of the situation, let an appropriate decision be taken by the authorities in context of the safety and protection of the inmates of the transit camps." Chrungoo asked the DGP to let him know his plans in this respect and also the contingency measures that are supposed to be taken in an eventually serious situation. Please make it sure that all the transit camps have the necessary and foolproof security stay put and also arrangements for security to the scattered minority population throughout the Valley. And the delegation of political parties led by Rahul Gandhi on a visit to Kashmir was sent back from he airport. Did they speck out if their plan was to meet the minorities or it was to disrupt peace. Possibly the delegation had no idea whether some minorities were still living in Kashmir otherwise the delegation of mainstream opposition parties would spkean about their ruse to make to the downtown of Srinagar. When the internet is down and the telephones are not working the minorities find the going tough because they has no connection with their relations living in Jammu and the rest of the Indian states. Possibly the Governor had no idea of those minorities living in Kashmir he may be under the impression that all minorities have migrated to other parts of India in 1990. Otherwise he would have visited their transit camps and asked for by difficulty they were facing in Kashmir. It is strange that when the majority of people are not safe why should one ask about the safety of minorities. Whatever may be their number. They have lived in Kashmir despite opposition from their relations who are settled in jammu and other states. In fact the crux of the story is that human rights should be honoured and nobody whether belonging to the majority or the minority communities feel scared of the situation which has been reduced to shambles because after the Government revoked Article 370 and Article 35-A. |
