CTA delegation highlights college teachers problem | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 28: A delegation of J&K College Teachers Association CTA Jammu led by President Prof.D.S Manhas with Pawan Sharma,Member, Monitoring Committee ,MHRD Govt. of India to discuss various problems being faced by the college teachers in the implementation of UGC/MHRD Regulations. CTA appraised the worthy member that UGC/MHRD Regulations were implemented 1st time in J&K for College Teachers in 1986 after hectic efforts by College Teachers. The Regulations were implemented since then but only partially. CTA stated that The UGC/MHRD Regulations of 2010 have also not been implemented in totality like, Age of superannuation of college Teachers is not as per UGC norms, Post of professor has not been created in Colleges of J&K as yet, Nomenclature of PTI has not been changed as per UGC Regulations although it has been changed throughout the country. Further UGC/MHRD Regulations of 2018 have not been implemented till now, Although J&K College Teachers have taken up this issue with the Higher Education Department but till now no action has been taken in this regard.CTA further informed the worthy member that MHRD/UGC has restored incentives of increments on higher qualification for College Teachers which were stopped earlier in 7th CPC. But it has not been restored in J&K till now. CTA requested the worthy member to take up the Issues raised by the CTA with the concerned authorities so that UGC regulations are implemented in J&K (Union Territory) in TOTO. Mr. Pawan Sharma held discussion and assured members of CTA that he will take up these issues with the concerned and will make efforts to resolve these issues immediately. The delegation comprised of members of CTA and Teaching fraternity of different colleges. |
