Kathua, Aug 28: The District Information Centre, Kathua organized a multilingual Mushaira and Cultural programme at Government Higher Secondary School, Mangloor.
Principal, Vijay Sharma was the chief guest while staff and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
Various poets presented their creations in Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Dogri languages on various social evils like drug addiction, female feticide, women empowerment, gender disparity, illiteracy and dowry system.
Prominent among the poets who recited their writings included Vijay Sharma, T R Sumbria, R S Katal, Renu Padha, Sunita Kumari and others.
A scintillating cultural programme comprising Dogri, Hindi and Punjabi songs was also presented on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal thanked the Information Department for organizing such type of programmes and appealed for organizing more such programmes on regular basis. |
