| Awareness camp on rights of children, women held | | |

Kathua, Aug 28: A legal awareness camp was organized today here at Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Nagri on the theme of "Child Labour, Child Abuse, Rights of women and their protection from Domestic Violence"
The camp was organized under the aegis of Chairman, District legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Kathua, Pawan Dev Kotwal and supervised by Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Aarti Mohan in collaboration with Chief Education Officer Kathua.
The main objective of the programme was to make the students aware about Child Rights, Child abuse and the various issues related to women and steps provided in law for overcoming the same.
While speaking on the occasion Retainer lawyers, Sunita Devi & Puneet Kumari delivered the lecture about the rights of children and their protection from sexual offence. They also highlighted the various schemes launched by the Govt. for the benefits of Child and Women rights. They impressed upon the students to take maximum benefits of these schemes.
Staff of Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Nagri along with large number of students participated in this awareness camp. On the occasion many students from the schools also read papers an the subject Child abuse. The Programme was also attended by the Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority and Tehsil Legal Services Committee Kathua. Principal of the host school, Narendar Singh Sambyal delivered the vote of thanks and requested the District Legal Services Authority Kathua to hold more such enlightening programme in the school. |
