Jammu, Sept 2: Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School Jammu today organized a programme on 'Save Environment, Save Life' in its auditorium in which Aijaz Qaiser, Assistant Commissioner Development Jammu, was the chief guest, Sohail Kazmi, social activist & senior journalist of Jammu was the guest of honour and RJ Vasudha Tikkoo (RED FM 91.9) was the special guest. The motive of the programme was to create awareness among students to 'Save Environment, Save Life' and its symptoms and to encourage them to stay fit and healthy. Besides, various students of 10th standard who brought laurels to the school in the result of 10th standard were rewarded with certificates and medals. RJ Vasudha (Red FM 91.9) presented a plant to school Principal Rameshwar Mengi. Chief Guest Aijaz Qaiser, Assistant Commissioner Development Jammu, speaking on the occasion aware students to buy less disposable products, ban plastic, buy more fuel-efficient cars (such as a hybrid or electric) and recycle engine oil. Principal Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Rameshwar Mengi, who also presided over the function, urged the students to save environment, work hard to pursue their aims and play an important role in nation building. |
