Railway aspirants miss examination, seek Governor’s intervention | | | Sahil Suhail
Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 2: A group of job aspirants, who missed examination conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board, on Monday, sought the intervention of Governor Satya Pal Malik. The aspirants requested Governor to take up the matter with the Railway Recruitment Board so that the board conducts fresh examination for the aspirants of Jammu and Kashmir who missed the examination due to ongoing communication blockade. "We applied for the post of JE in Railway department under notification number CEN-03/2018 through railway recruitment board and appeared in the preliminary examination in the month of May 2019 and now yesterday we came to know that the Railway recruitment board as not only declared the result of preliminary examination but has now started holding main examination," Adil Majeed, a resident of Krandigam Bijbehara told Early Times. Aadil along with four other aspirants of Bijbehara area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district have qualified the preliminary examination conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board. He said that he and his four other friends, who qualified the examination, decided to approach Governor Satya Pal Malik through Deputy Commissioner Anantnag. "We are going to submit a detailed memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and will request him to bring the issue into the notice of Governor Satya Pal Malik so that he takes up the matter with the Railway Recruitment Board and justice is done with us," he said. Aspirants said that it was only because of the communication blockade that missed their examination. "We want to serve the railway department," they added. Prior to abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A, the Jammu and Kashmir government suspended communication and blocked internet services in the state. After fortnight, the government restored landline services in various areas of State. On Monday landline services were also restored in Anantnag district. Earlier landline services were restored in Pahalgam, Aishmuqam, Bijbehara and Qazigund only. In absence of internet services, people particularly businessmen and students continue to suffer. |
